The problem is that after logging out/in the desktop icons and widgets are lost on both the PC monitor and the cloned TV. So I have to unify the display outputs again. Was having success a couple months ago with 16.04 and Plasma 5.7.5 from kubuntu ppa/staging-plasma, but now it failed again with 16.10 and Plasma 5.8.4 from kubuntu ppa/backports.
