    kernel version numbering

I'm just curious as to the reasoning behind the change in kernel version numbering. I had kernel version 4.4.0-33-generic and then a new kernel came down and installed: kernel version 4.4.0-9134-generic.

    Why did the point release go from a two-digit (33) to a four-digit (9134), and why '91'?

IIRC proposed 4.6 version kernel in Yakkety was causing too many problems. To solve that and fix some problems where oddly new kernel was even blocking a large number of package migrations from proposed to release, the release team chose to revert back to and rebuild 4.4 kernel for now.

The different numbering for those rebuilds is to prevent them clashing with the Xenial kernels which otherwise would have identical numbering.

.i.e yakkety 4.4.0-9134 will always supersede xenial 4.4.0-34 on upgrade

Why '91'? I don't recall seeing a particular reason for those digits, though there may be one apart from just being higher.
