    Multiple monitors issue

I am trying to run a few different monitors with two GPUs to create one single desktop.

I'm using two Radeon HD 7950 cards to run two monitors each. I have AMD driver and configure everything using Catalyst Control Center.

I can mouse over to each screen correctly but only one of them actually works. The others are just black and the cursor becomes an X when moved to those displays.

The main monitor functions as expected but is the only one recognized by system settings.

running a command like xrandr shows only the main monitor despite the fact that the other displays are connected and I can move the mouse to them.

I have had similar set-ups with other older installations of Kubuntu so I think this should be possible with my hardware.

Does anyone have an idea what the issue may be? Thank you!

From what I read from a quick web search, you need to use the ATI fglrx driver, not the radeon driver supplied by Ubuntu.

Yes, that's the one I am using.
