I am guessing that you did not get the prompt to switch the login manager during your plasma 5 upgrade
I got the prompt and chose sddm. I'll try the rest now.

Ok. I guees it gets interesting now.

I changed to command line and loged in.
      Now I get:
systemd-logind [1087]: failled to start unit user @1000.service: unknown unit user @1000
systemd-logind [1087]: failled to start user service @1000.service: unknown unit user @1000
This seems to be a bug:
      bug #1359439

      running
      Code:
      sudo dpkg-reconfigure sddm
just got me back to the prompt so I guesss that worked but
      Code:
      startx
      gives me a black screen.

      hmm......

OK. I tried a few things like
        Code:
         sudo apt install -f
this told me that there were 22 upgrades so I ran:
        Code:
        sudo apt full-upgrade
This told we there were 22 upgradables and a ton of new packages

Did that and now all is in order
Still no idea what the real culprit was though.

prob a new sddm, and whatever bits that were borked. I know that recent updates fixed the system settings sddm module so that we can actually change settings now

Hi all, just a quick question about plasma 5 kubuntu beta.
I understand that this release is not supported and provided only for testing purposes, but is there a way that i can enable language support on it (i need to install greek language support)?
If i remember correctly Ubuntu has a tool that can install languager support for the whole system.

            Thanks in advance.

I just set my regionional settings (sytem settings) to:
              prefered language=german.

Log out or reboot then go back to system settings-> regional setting.
Now you can set your region with time, number, money, etc. to whatever you want.

Since I don't read greek I don't know if it available. Just try it
