What have Scribus and Audacity in common with LibreOffice?

I have installed a couple of PPA's to get the newest versions of Scribus and Audacity. The result, when I type
«sudo apt-get upgrade scribus audacity audacity-data» is

I deliberatly don't want LibreOffice. Can someone tell me how I avoid this but getting only the newest programs from the applications I want? Actually I am by now better and quicker writing anything in Scribus, so I have absolutely no use for this mega-giga-application.

It looks to me the scribus is using files provided by libreoffice: https://www.scribus.net/svn/Scribus/...toolbox18.html

It probably draws in the rest of the libreoffice suite.

Have you tried installing scribus, then removing libreoffice?

IF you haven't yet installed scribus, audacity, and audacity-data, then type:

sudo apt-get install --no-recommends scribus audacity audacity-data

However, there have been more errors and inconsistencies with my ISO 14.04.3. Same DVD worked different to my still working installation. Then I spotted a report in Pro-Linux (German) who explained that Ubuntu has just released an updated service version, called 14.04.5, also for the other *buntu derivates. A short search and I found the correct download for the ISO. That done, I have now, over the weekend installed this version and most problems I encountered are now away. I could install Scribus, audacity and audacity.data without problems, despite I have deleted everything LibreOffice. It is not, that I don't like this mega program, but that I am now quicker with Scribus than with Writer, and I don't use any of the many other programs they offer.

This thread led me to a very interesting command buried in Ubuntu/Kubuntu.
FYI: I installed Kubuntu 16.04 to bare metal (only OS) and installed Neon on top of it.

I believe that if you were to look up each "unsupported" entry in Muon, each response would have this statement: "Canonical does not provide updates for <packge-name>. Some updates may be provided by the Ubuntu community." So it's not that they are actually unsupported, but rather they are not a part of the Canonical baseline.
