    playing m4a files in amarok

    Dear all,

I am having problems playing m4a files in amarok (2.8.0).

AFAICT I have *all* the gstreamer plugins installed. The m4a tracks show in the amarok collection, but are greyed-out, so I can't actually play them.

Any idea of what piece of software I am missing?

    Cheers,

    Andrea.

Are the files local or on a remote device?

      Hi oshunluvr,

      thanks for your reply.

The files are on a usb drive. I added them to the collection like a normal folder, through the mountpoint (i.e. I am not using the USB drive plugin).
I shall also add that the files are DRM free (vlc opens them without problems).

      Andrea.

Well, that should work, but test them by copying a few to your Music folder and see if they play from there. It could be the way they're mounted.
