O ,,,well lets say that "linux-headers-4.4.0-98" and "linux-image-extra-4.4.0-98-generic" is missing after the autoremove finally gets done ,,,, then you would do

      Code:
      sudo apt-get install linux-headers-4.4.0-98 linux-image-extra-4.4.0-98-generic
      and then reboot.

Just caught a glimpse of Error, your kernals for 3.19.0-33 are not found or words to that effect. It's way past that line now. May be others. Does Konsole have a "find" function?

Vinny's got you on the right road, but continue to post results here as soon as they occur. There are lots of good people on this forum from all over the planet. Vinny's gone to bed but somewhere on this planet it is daylight and a Kubuntu user is wide awake and browsing this forum. And, of course, I hear that Snowhog never goes to bed, so ....

Thanks. You're right. Great folks here and if it wasn't for yall I'd be stuck in Windows. Sounds good to me. Been up now for 18 hrs. This "thing" that's running for ever and a day; should I post it if I can stay awake? it's gonna be huge.

It remains running and running and running. I'm afraid if it ever ends and i post the results, it'll jam the forum and I'll be executed.

Don’t stay up ‘for ever’. Let it run overnight if need be and check it in the morning. What you don’t want to do is a forced reboot (power-off button).

Gonna now run [dpkg -l |grep 4.4.0-98] to see if those 4 files are there.

Crap. 3 of 4 are there.
