    trash problem

When I click on the wastebin icon on the desktop a dolphin window showing the contents of my home directory opens.

I would like to see the contents of the wastebin, How can I achieve this ?

    Hmm an odd one.
I would suggest adding a second trash widget to your desktop to see if that works, and delete the one that isn't. I can't reproduce this, and the trash widget does not have any configuration to change the directory.

Thanks, I've added a second trash widget but it acts the same as the original.

I don't usually have this widget on my desktop, but when I put it there just now, I get the same results - Dolphin opened to my home folder rather than trash.

          Dolphin problem, not the widget:

I tried making a new document to test to see what my system does. I deleted the file then opened the trash folder in dolphin. The displayed folder is empty!

In the trashcan widget settings, what folders are listed?

Any option as to 'folders' isn't present in my Trash widget (13.10). I don't think that is an option at all.

My KDE menu stopped working. I am going to reboot into the repair option in my Grub II menu. brb.

Much better dpkg didn't show any broken packages so I guess it was probably just a random boot glitch. I wish my keypad problem was that easy to fix but that is in another thread.

@Snowhog, right click on trash in dolphin then select edit. It will show the folder its currently set to and allow you to change it.

                    Mine is set to
                    Code:
                    trash:/
                    .
