    Google Earth install fails

Have tried several ways to install Google Earth and non of the result in a working programme.

    I'm running 12.10 64 bit.

I probably have bits of failed installations lying around somwhere now!

Any help or advice would be appreciated

I just did this a few days ago on 12.10 64bit.

First, I installed the deb package with muon: google-earth.

    This created the package: make-googleearth-package

Then in a terminal ran: make-googleearth-package --force
Which created another package, that I then tried to install: sudo dpkg -i googleearth_6.0.3.2197+0.7.0-1_amd64.deb

This gave me error messages about missing packages/unresolved dependencies reference lsb-core.

    So I ran: sudo apt-get install lsb-core

Which gave me an install error.

    So I ran: sudo apt-get -f install

and then again: sudo dpkg -i googleearth_6.0.3.2197+0.7.0-1_amd64.deb

This time, it worked without error and I now have a working googleearth.

I don't know what you've tried so far, but this worked for me.
