k3b won't recognize new CD-R - can't burn ISO image

I wonder if you could mount the image and then burn a data cd instead of an image?

Is this actually possible? Would it be bootable? Could you explain how this might be done? Just interested.

Yesterday I tried to burn the 703MB Kubuntu 12.04.1 ISO and K3B failed 3 times. I thought it was a permission problem but it wasn't. An previous upgrade unchecked the "Overburning" option. I rechecked it and today I burned a 703MB oversized ISO and it burned OK in K3B. On the Advanced tab IIRC.

Didn't mean to ignore you. Excellent idea. I didn't respond right away because I'd thought that my burn attempt of the 12.04.1 oversize ISO failed even though I had the "overburning" option checked. Didn't go back to confirm this, but I do recall checking it, as that solution was the first thing I thought of when I was not able to do the burn. At this point I'm not sure WHAT actually happened, memory being an unreliable record of the past!

But...still I want to know why this oversize ISO was posted for download in the first place? Should more of us be asking THAT question?
