Kfilebox crashes the first time you install it, but it does put the dropbox daemon into the system tray. There there you can choose the option to start the daemon, which works fine with or without Kfilebox. If you restart KFilebox it starts OK and runs fine.

On my 11.04 install I had both dropbox and kfilebox running. kfilebox crashed pretty regularly and I haven't even tried it with 12.04. Since it's my dropbox account, I really don't need notification that I updated a file - my memory isn't that bad.... ....yet!
Hi, since my last upgrade to Precise kfilebox hasn't been working any more. I have tried to install both 0.4.8 and 0.4.9 but the account setting window is blank and I can't set it up.
KFileBox has not been properly compiled for Precise. The behavior of existing builds appears unpredictable -- some folks have no trouble, others do. It's probably better right now to use the standard UI.
After you install it, quit the application, delete the file ~/.dropbox-dist/libstdc++so.6, and restart it. The end result approximates a KDE application very well.

Steve, is that the one that uses Nautilus as the file manager?

The Nautilus part is only in the name, it happily opens the directory in your default file manager.
Kfilebox was a little temperamental when I first added it to 12.04 but has been behaving al right for the past several weeks.
I originally installed it because I wanted a monochrome icon.
