The file won't extract for me. Can you just copy the last few lines of the file and past them in your reply to this?

          Re: Printer problem

It appears your printer is installed as a Canon BJ-5 which isn't anything like an MG5250.

I would try installing these drivers instead:

          http://software.canon-europe.com/products/0010889.asp

They'v only listed Ubuntu 10.04, but I'd try them anyway.

I try to install the driver:

                Code:
                per@per-loftstova:~/Driver/cnijfilter-mg5200series-3.40-1-deb$ sudo ./install.sh

                  Re: Printer problem

I think the install script is written for Ubuntu and not Kubuntu. Try this instead.

                  If you are 64 bit:

                  Code:
                  cd Downloads/cnijfilter-mg5200series-3.40-1-deb/packages
                  sudo dpkg -i cnijfilter-common_3.40-1_amd64.deb cnijfilter-mg5200series_3.40-1_amd64.deb
                  If i386:

                  Code:
                  cd Downloads/cnijfilter-mg5200series-3.40-1-deb/packages
                  sudo dpkg -i cnijfilter-common_3.40-1_i386.deb cnijfilter-mg5200series_3.40-1_i386.deb
This assumes you extracted the files to Downloads. If you extracted them to another location change to that directory before running the second command.

                    Re: Printer problem

                    Hi
Problem solved! I can print now!
I found the solution, I did not use the right driver!
I used the first driver on the list, and did not see MG5200 in the list of drivers.
Thank you for all your help here in the Kubuntu Forum!

Glad you got it working. Next challenge will be getting the scanner function to work.
