    Installed Natty today...

I thought I'd "learn" on Maverick first....

    A coupla thoughts.

    A) GORGEOUS WALLPAPER!!!
    B) It found the NVIDIA 9600 card whereas MM had to be configured.
    C) It was installing AS I WAS TYPING IN MY INFO!!! tres kewl!
    D) Kopete did an odd thing...it would not let me put in my password to Yahoo unless I typed in my username and yahoo.com and said checked that I wanted to stay locked in... i then went back and deleted the yahoo part and the always stay logged in check.
    ummmm
    Otherwise....works great!

    Printer drivers numbers are....humoungous

    I am IMPRESSED!
I thought there were a lot of drivers before...but the list now is just...well....quite beyond belief in terms of the angst of just a few years ago...

Don't know if it is due to "Debian" or "Ubuntu" or the results of the lawsuit against Microshaft ten years ago slowly being played out or..what.....but if you haven't installed a printer lately....you should grab a neighbor's and just look and the numbers and be amazed!

        Hi
I'm just a hardware kinda guy....so I have NO CLUE....

But , why, particularly, would you want a DVD version.

Really, if you would list your reasons the devs. would read it.

I'm not sure either, but Maverick has DVD iso's currently, so I would imagine that Natty will as well.

I'm very well impressed with Natty, I like the installer a lot, it saves time by asking you questions while it installs, that's very smart.

Also, upgraded my both home/work machines without any issues.

DVDs work except heavily encrypted DVDs

              To put it quite simply

The first DVD of Roughnecks, Starship troopers chronicles played.

The DVD of the Little Rascals played.

The second DVD of Roughnecks Starship Troopers did not. wouldn't even play the individual files.

Now, I am quite positive that this is some sort of "copy protection" because it played in a DVD player so, probably not Natty/Kubuntu problem.

I think his response regarding Roughnecks should have gone here.

                    Re: Installed Natty today...

I can see verndog's idea but the post was that Natty works with DVDs unless they are REALLY HEAVILY encrpyted, which, apparently the second, and now, third discs are.

See, I thought this referred to Natty being on a DVD, not a DVD movie player in Natty...
