I got Maveric when in was released as alpha last week.
Overall it is a great alpha and I am very impressed.
Very fast and responsive. KDE4.5 beta1 / qt4.7 are (again) a big step forward.
Neat little tweaks and more to come by August I am sure.
akonadi seems to be behaving (except for syncing google cal.)
There are a few little things that I have noticed though:
- KDM forgets username yo you have to type it every time
- Num lock greyed out.
- Can't get the bouncing mouse pointer to stop bouncing (where have they hidden that feature)
- Folder view not installed by default
- klipper is still persistant. Should be fixed by veriosn 4.4.81
- Kontact works after update and installing libkontactinterface4 and libakonadi-contact4
- No way to chose Sender/Receiver choice in the dropdown list on the header bar in kmail.
This is probably a Kubuntu thing:

When I get around to it I'll be testing on my notebook and see how wireless, etc work.
