Re: Kubuntu 10.04 Final Impressions: Vote now!
I had no problems upgrading to Kubuntu 10.04 (or to the same version of Ubuntu, for that matter) which was a relief since I did have problems with 9.40, whose predecessor had been installed using Wubi. The only problems I've had so far are with the Desktop special effects, which I cannot activate (my sound card, I presume), and an odd problem with Knetwork Manager, which crashes sometimes when I switch network connections. Everything else seems to work fine.

I gave it a "D," but I think that most of my frustration is due to KDE. I stuck with Hardy because I believed that it was an LTS release; finally discovered at upgrade time that it wasn't, so I had to go through the try the "easy" path of upgrading to 9.10, which trashed my hard drive and thence to Lucid. When I finally got Lucid installed, it was back to square one; need to install extra repositories in order to get essential programs. And the list goes on, but I'll spare you the details--I'm going to see how to delete KDE and try life without its annoyances.
