Connecting to windows printer at home

    Hi,
I have a hp printer on a win7 machine at home and now and trying to print on it from my Kubuntu laptop ( via wireless router ). When i click system settings->printer->new network printer i never see the printer name come up after the search.
So i clicked the samba option and gave it the IP of the win7 machine and so on, it worked fine then. My problem is the IP will change from time to time.
Every time i try input the WORKGROUP and stuff it always defaults to thinking the printer is connected to my laptop.
So my problem is why cant the printer set up detect the printer on the home network in the first place?

    Thanks:<br />Using a Toshiba A300-21H ,3GB ram,Intel Core2Duo 2Ghz,Mobile Intel® GMA 4500MHD,intel wifi link 5100. Tux wants you!

Have you tried CUPS directly from your browser?

Next time it drops off, open a browser window and type localhost:631 in the URL bar. Click on the Administration tab, then tick "Show printers on other systems" and "Find new Printers"
