Blank screen after Logout on multi-user system

I seem to be suffering from a blank screen when I logout on a system with nVidia hardware as per this old Hardy bug, I'm sure this worked on Karmic, but has now re-appeared in Lucid

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...96/+bug/202855

Anybody else seeing this (restart and shutdown work as expected)

I have another system with Intel graphics which works fine.

I have the same problem. I can't offer much help as far as a fix goes. But I can confirm that I get a black screen when I attempt to logout. My restart and shutdown are too working.

When I upgraded to Lucid, I just figured it was some thing that would quickly get worked out & fixed with updates/upgrades. You can see my system type in my signature. I will let you know if I hear of a solution.

Same here, the black screen. Although sometimes I get it, other times I get the login screen.

Did you try adding "TerminateServer=true" to the
        "[X-*-Core]" section of /etc/kde4/kdm/kdmrc?? That
        fixed the problem for me.

Interesting -- it was already set that way.

The same for my desktop after installing driver nvidia by means of jockey-kde . I think solving the problem via suitable update would be correct approach .

As George said above, sometimes I get the black screen, other times I get the login screen .
(Of course there is no # in front of that line.)

Moe: Be sure there's no # in front of that line - mine had the line but the # makes it a remark.
