    Yet Another Conky Thread

    Looking for ideas.

I quite like Conky. Well, to be honest, Karamba was better. Especially as graphs go. But it's dead.
So I make do with Conky. I like it because, corner of my eye, I know - as much as possible - what's going on. Pretty much immediately.
And I do like that. Can't do without it, really. It's the first thing I set up on a new system. Until I do, I feel... lost.

So I got my Conky as good as I can get it.
By that, I mean have the most information in the least space.
Graphs are not too good, especially network, but Conky itself doesn't do line graphs (wonder why :·/ )but otherwise...
My latest effort is this: A study in blue ;·)

Now, if anyone has any ideas on how to cram more info in there, what additional info would be useful, how to get better line graphs, or anything, I'd be delighted to hear them.

      I'm afraid I can't see it.
Google has been quite unusable for images for a while.
I mean, they've gone Gaga. Look at the URL for it:

      https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Dt4NR0Jn7TIQVvCUA9eE5an3jDDpLnrnkf56kFBhjAczgSloqM xYQYngcNi4da-Xw3h-08Bu7Qjj6MKyIEQHl4M57Du2SPTkRlrBzaDdu3q7gUzVKu3NhX XGqBEoJ8b7n3x_k0uU9E4G1cKJS-pWnE-C3clf6JyhdYS3QcmjYivhjsu0OSqgDKcGSQCQh7nRN6XQCGXGR 4WbkdQZkl9pxvPSsgr9Pli6GKQAKCNVmhP9B1vNbAvLqkdB-v0zc5qytdhL4hoV0ZUI613RZKmVAo4n6P4e6bzzvZBGqFLD0Tp-_Gl2gkh8H5ISrGhXJNTQN4iGZ1SX7TQAt8fKis3irQIbWnQUGD LTw-ikgMFpbXsvhke1qB0U7QXEwgnonpcK8Vt0aSXY53OwtzrcjaFQ dXlgad0gV6q_tgoAhIvtoXzQLGjFQNW3tvrU0j-NA-h98zvmaUGpgkzAtxegZVKwAVOjyyFg3rvDH1--fg1THx_gK2ySmuy2VBZ_IEAk3mNNfdG7cU9odCvCvfHyvTaqnU IOS5tPQBEFjEIWP_-W6u6cbjPkUW0ZrBT-OfqKBluY4P6DWF7VOBxH0bch8nBpDTsEocR11HKqPytA8JJX14 QMy2bMROakVo0Nx_KWK_bMDpQuNwrCTGtdrTJfiTjHNULaEijJ 6Kfh7pF47AzVI6XiMAj3qbEjNfA=w184-h745-no

      A tad over-the-top, eh?
And it does not show anything. If you open the URL directly, it asks you to log in. Google's gone Gaga.

I am aware of the ,,,,,,size of the URL , I do have to paste and wrap in [IMG-tags

strang it always displays just fine for me , even just pasting the URL in the address bar of a browser displays it ,,,,this one that is , not the one you posted

            Hi
I would pick a nit with the title...there is, to me, NO way that there can be "too many" Conky threads! The old woodsmoker LOVES conky!

and, if possible, how about posting your script for the conky?

A question for any and all reading this .
do you see my pick of conky in post #2 or is it just gobeldy gook like @Don B. Cilly has said he see's ?

@woodsmoke an answer to this will get you my .conkyrc , I assume you wanted it as @Don B. Cilly has a link in post#1 for his

                Hi
yes I see everything but your "this is mine" Vinny, it has a "minus sign" or "dash" in a circle in a vertical gray bar. it is not clickable but i can view it with right click.

and yeah the .rc is what I was referencing. sorry.

Well, mine is transparent too :·)
You might notice little white and blue dots scattered about. They're stars.

The image in post #2 looks like this:

If I use the URL to see it, it asks me to log in to ze google account. Probably yours...
The attachment you posted in #4 is perfectly visible. Well, it's a local attachment... ;·)

The conkyrc for mine - along with two lua scripts, instructions for setting up, and starter bash script - are in the KDE store link.

I like mine better :·) (but then you probably like yours better, so we're even...)
One thing I liked in yours is Load. I'll add that.

                          Hi Vinny
I see a normal Conky, black background, lots of data and the funny little green dragon logo , green trim, Linux at the bottom with a blue...dunno...starburst ? background in the box.

ok hears my .conkyrc , FYI trying to attach it as an attachment I some how triggered some forum security thingy and got blocked for a day until it got resolved .

                            Code:
                            conky.config = {

-- comments now start this way instead of with a # :)
-- all config items require a trailing comma
-- all string variables are enclosed in single quotes
-- numbers and boolean operators don't get single quotes but yes = true and no = false now
-- i'm not sure whether minimum_size = '220 5', is a string or not - if it doesn't work try without single quotes.
