I have folders locked i cant get into?

I have folders that say i dont have permission is there someway to log into the root or admin rather than my standard name user. If so how? Or to open these files how do i get the command to use a password

going to the K-menu, then Run command, and type in 'kdesu konqueror'. This will open your file manager with admin privileges.
