[Utilities] The microphone is not recognized

Here are some screenshots I took: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1290...gnized-kubuntu.

I can make other screenshots if you suggest them to me. I really hope I can solve this, or I'll have to revert back to windows for Zoom .

EDIT: I tried taking the speaker cable out and in and I got a signal while doing this, but I didnt get a signal while putting the microphone in the microphone input, but I get it if I put it in the speaker input.

EDIT2: Curiously, the microphone works if only the microphone is plugged in but not the speakers

EDIT3: If I plug the microphone first, the microphone works and the speakers don't. Anyone has any idea?

    EDIT4: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1290...ne-at-the-time, new information.

Have you tried Alsamixer? In the terminal, enter
    Code:
    alsamixer
and then press f6 to select the sound card. Do you see the speakers and microphone connected? If the microphone and speaker were connected but were mute, unmute them by pressing M key

Nothing is muted on both the Intel and the Nvidia card, I'm not sure where u can see if they both really are connected. Take a look at this image: https://i.stack.imgur.com/c1LE7.png. If the upper option is analog stereo output, then speakers work, if the upper option is analog stereo input, then the microphone works, it doesn't matter what is the option down. Could it be the fact that the upper option is only for the rear end (I'm using both at the rear)? How can I get over this?

BTW, here's alsamixer for my intel card: https://pasteboard.co/JzhvBoc.png and for my nvidia card: https://pasteboard.co/JzhwtGl.png.

Does everything work outside of Zoom? I'd look at that first, at least to rule out it being a pulseaudio issue as opposed to a software issue with Zoom.

No, I'm not testing it in Zoom, it's really bizarre, I can either use microphone or the speakers but not at the same time (look at the picture of pavucontrol if u hadn't), maybe I'll have to make a shortcut to temporarily switch between them if I can't fix this...

On a side note, how could one implement a keyboard shortcut to make the upper audio option either output or input (as seen in the picture), so I can switch between speakers and microphone?

If the device isn't set in the upper option, you can't pick its port. In this picture I have audio input in upper portion: https://pasteboard.co/Jzig3XP.png.

I think the problem is that there is only one option select of the right kind, if I pull both devices out, the right kind doesn't show anything while the wrong kind still shows a million things. How can I get two instances of the right kind?

Also, in the good option selecter the only two options are input and output, there is no duplex. But in the bad one there is everything, also duplex.

I think (I also rebooted but I think I also rebooted before lol, would it be funny if just rebooting fixed it tho - I am now almost sure it made it work, I rebooted once when not applying the setting (was able only to use the mic, actually never the speakers), and the again applaying and it worked) this handy program located here https://askubuntu.com/questions/1013...r-audio-output helped fix the issue.
