Hello I have a acer swift 3 with ryzen 7 4700u with windows 10 home edition installed. I created a bootable pen drive by using etcher and it crashed once during the installation. I thought that it is because corrupted pen drive and then I reinstalled it successfully and now I have sudden freezes in login screen and even when using the computer. I installed it as a dual boot and don't know if this is the reason for this but I allocated enough hard drive space for both operating systems to run. (About 120GB for Kubuntu) Any advice would be appreciated.

The 4500u/4700u requires kernel 5.7 or newer

You may have to manually update the kernel.

Do you get a stable network connection?

If yes we can update the kernel via command line.

ALternatively you can try to boot with the nomodeset option in grub
