Help before I go and by an Apple Mac...
Can anyone help a clueless user connect to an Epson Workforce WF-7710 please? I am using Kubuntu 19.04.

I have found the following links:

Such threats may get you nowhere

Dio note that 19.04 is no longer supported

You have to get drivers from Epson

Once you get to the downloads page for the printer drivers you need to grab the 64 bit DEB file version, and do read the notes about installing a needed package.
After that you just need to double click the downloaded file to install it.

Then, you should be able to go into system settings and add the new printer via the wizard. You may very likely see the printer discovered automatically after a few moments, even wirelessly if the printer has been connected to your wifi network

I just installed a high speed epson scanner thsi week and the Linux support was very good.

        From this page:

        http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/se...h/searchModule

Downlaod the first three files: esc driver, printer utility, and pc fax driver (if needed for your model). In all cases you need to install the amd64 variant file with .deb ending.

also note the instruction to install lsb with

        Code:
        sudo apt install lsb
The .deb files can be installed by double clicking which should open them in discover. If not you can manually install them with this type of command, for each file

        Code:
        [FONT=monospace][COLOR=#54FF54][B]mr_raider@HP-ProBook-440-G5[/B][/COLOR]:[COLOR=#5454FF][B]~/Downloads[/B][/COLOR]$ sudo apt install ./epson-inkjet-printer-escpr2_1.1.12-1lsb3.2_amd64

        [/FONT]
For the scanner driver, click the 4th file, and click accept to go to the linux package page:

        http://support.epson.net/linux/en/imagescanv3.php

Select the distro closest to your kubuntu, which in ubuntu 19.04.

It will download a tar.gz file which is a compressed archive. Extract it to the folder of your choice and it will create an imagescan subfolder. Within that folder, right click the install.sh file, and set the permissions to executable (tick box).

Then run it by opening a terminal in that folder with this command:

        Code:
        [FONT=monospace][COLOR=#54FF54][B]mr_raider@HP-ProBook-440-G5[/B][/COLOR]:[COLOR=#5454FF][B]~/Downloads/imagescan-bundle-ubuntu-19.04-3.62.0.x64.deb[/B][/COLOR]$ ./install.sh

        [/FONT][FONT=monospace]
        [/FONT]

          Maybe try
          sudo dpkg -i whatever.the.deb.file.is.called.deb
          ?

Oh, yeah, you are running an unsupported release, the archives for 19.04 have been removed, or rather, they have been moved, so you cannot install the package 'lsb' as directed on the download page.

You will need to edit your sources.list in order to install any software dependencies for 19.04

            https://gist.github.com/dergachev/f5da514802fcbbb441a1

You can do this using the Software Sources option in your package manager, editing any source that includes 'archive.ubuntu.com' (or similar) and 'security.ubuntu.com' to read 'old-releases.ubuntu.com'.
Then you can install the required lsb package, and then the driver.

But it will be advisable to move away from this unsupported OS as things like this will pop up more often

The OP is on 19.04, an EOL release. it is probably the missing deps that cannot be downloaded, as the archive has been mothballed.

Well I have upgraded to Kubuntu 19.10. Ive installed all the drivers. I can see the printer in Kubuntu but anytime I try to print nothing happens and its just stuck in the queue. The printer itself works when I print a test page from the printer itself.
Seems like the printer is maybe not communicating with my pc? I don't know.

Well it seems to be printing via wireless! So thanks for all involved. Your help is appreciated.
I will try scanning next week...

THAT will probably be a fair bit more involved, assuming you intend to scan over wifi. though they do have their own scanning software on the download page, which may make it fairly easy, or easy-ish........or..

If it is connected to USB, it might Just Work out of the box, after installing sane (is it installed by default?) and Skanlite or Xsane

For wireless you will need to look at these, probably:

                    http://support.epson.net/linux/en/im...nv3.php#ubuntu

                    then instructions to install
                    http://download.ebz.epson.net/man/li...v3_e.html#sec6
hopefully the e-z script works well

Then to configure network scanning with a massive caveat that may or may not apply to your model, as some seem to be able to scan over wifi without having it connected to a computer, despite what the instructions indicate.

I've had good success with Epson scanners. Their image scan software is a bit cumbersome, so I use simple scan or skan lite.
