Hi all,
I have read through the excellent and helpful feedback in this thread, but I have a slight variation on the problem that I would like to raise if I may.
I am running Kubuntu 26.04 on an HP 250 G4 laptop, 16GB RAM with a 500GB SSD (LUKS encrypted). Once I performed the upgrade to this version of Kubuntu, this has been happening.
I then ran into a second problem. The computer is also not detecting bootable USB devices. at startup when I startup using the F9 key.
I would be most grateful for advice with regard to overcoming these two challenges.
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,
I have read through the excellent and helpful feedback in this thread, but I have a slight variation on the problem that I would like to raise if I may.
I am running Kubuntu 26.04 on an HP 250 G4 laptop, 16GB RAM with a 500GB SSD (LUKS encrypted). Once I performed the upgrade to this version of Kubuntu, this has been happening.
- The computer starts up fine.
- Login works without any issues (both LUKS and user logins).
- Once logged in, the problem starts. The system keeps on connecting and then disconnecting the wifi card. As a result, there is no internet connectivity. I am currently connected by using my cellphone via USB tethhering.
I then ran into a second problem. The computer is also not detecting bootable USB devices. at startup when I startup using the F9 key.
I would be most grateful for advice with regard to overcoming these two challenges.
Thanks in advance.
