Kubuntu randomly starts in emergency mode - 24.04

    Specs:
    KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.12
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.115.0
    Qt Version: 5.15.13
    Kernal Version: 5.15.13
    6.8.0-111-generic (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: X11
    Processors: 16 x Intell Core I9-9900K CPU @ 3.60GHZ
    Memory: 31.3 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti/PCIe/SSE2

About 70/30 of the time I'll either boot or reset into emergency mode for almost a year (very late to trying to fix this, I use this PC very casually)
I'm currently off work for awhile, so I figured I'd actually take the time to fix it

    Link to journalctl output: https://justpaste.it/gaif5
Ive gone over some of the issues previously, and nothing stands out to me.

Let me know if more info is needed, and I'll respond whenever possible

    Thank you

Well now the issue escalated, and I'm permanently stuck in terminal.

I believe it's due to a faulty Nvidia driver, but sudo apt-get update ignores all my ppas, and I don't see any standout issues in the source list. I'm trying to change the the driver and I'm getting a: could not resolve 'archive.ubuntu.com'

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

      Welcome to the forum.

Search for sdb2 in the journalctl output you provided. It looks like a volume or drive failed to mount.

Sdb2 is an empty folder my system made after I changed my main storages file system to support multiple accounts accessing one steam library. Not sure why it made it, but it failing shouldn't stop me from using sudo apt-get update no?

If it helps to know. My etc/apt/sources.list is empty, but from I know current Ubuntu versions reference sources from another file under etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.source
