[Settings] Lockscreen set to picture of the day, yet never shows, only clock

    Kubuntu 18.10

My lock screen is set to show the Earth science picture of the day. Yet it only shows a clock. I want to see the pictures. How do I do that.

Earlier - KDE Forums - Lock screen wallpaper - Picture of the day: https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=66&t=142863

The lock screen disallows Internet access: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comment...ackground_not/

    A workaround:
If you are using the POTD wallpaper then you could use the wallpaper POTD and symlink the $HOME/.cache/plasmashell/plasma_engine_potd/ directory to $HOME/.cache/kscreenlocker_greet/plasma_engine_potd/.
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

Huh. OK. symlink... is that a shortcut like in Windows? I just right click and search for target or do I have to do something on the command line.

        I don't have a $HOME/.cache/kscreenlocker_greet and I don't have this either $HOME/.cache/plasmashell/plasma_engine_potd/

          Symlink or softlink: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symbolic_link

          Example:

          1) Set the wallpaper to the POTD

          2) Wait a moment - the POTD images are big...

The plasmashell will make the $HOME/.cache/plasmashell/plasma_engine_potd/ directory and download the image there.

          3) Make the $HOME/.cache/kscreenlocker_greet/

With the Dolphin: Go to $HOME/.cache/ and right click 'Create New Folder'.

          4) Open two views: Dolphin > Split

and open the view to the:
          $HOME/.cache/plasmashell/
          $HOME/.cache/kscreenlocker_greet/.

drag & drop the plasma_engine_potd to the $HOME/.cache/kscreenlocker_greet/

          5) Set the lockscreen background and test...

          Note

At here, now, the Earth science picture of the day website is either down or the Plasma POTD engine for the Earth science is broken.
