Kubuntu 25.10 Xscreensaver?

I searched for it on the Internet, but couldn't find a solution.

Is there a way to install Xscreensaver in Kubuntu?

If you install Xscreensaver via Synaptic Package Manager, you won't be able to start this screensaver.

It has taken extra work to use screensavers in at least Gnome and KDE for quite a number of years now.

It does not specify if you still need to use an xorg session for this but it seems logical.

Now, if you just use a slideshow , you can configure this as the lock screen wallpaper.

Xscreensaver still works on my Windows 11, even though it was last updated in 2015. 🥳🥳🥳
