Difficulty with an AMD APU on an HP Laptop

Greetings, I recently switched from Windows to Kubuntu on my HP Laptop 15-fc0xxx (AMD Ryzen 5 7530U with Radeon Graphics) I am not a complete novice with Linux as I have used it as my secondary OS in a dual-boot system for over a decade, but I am in no way an expert. However, with the issues I have with Windows 11, I decided it is time to just give up on that OS altogether. The problem I am having is now that I have installed Kubuntu on my laptop, I am not getting all the resolution options I had in Windows 10. The hardware (display and APU) is capable of reaching 1920x1080, however the OS will only allow up to 1366x768. I have searched online trying to figure out how to get full functionality of the APU, but I am not having any luck. I have tried multiple solutions I have found, but none seem to work. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I downloaded "amdgpu-install_6.4.60404-1_all.deb" from the AMD website and followed their instructions to install. After installation and reboot I had no new options. I used another online guide and tried to manually add a new resolution option through xrandr commands but each time I get to the point of implementing the new resolution I keep getting the same error "xrandr: Configure crtc 0 failed"

Not saying you are wrong, but are you sure your laptop actually has a FHD capability?

The HP Laptop 15-fc0xxx series comes with either a full HD (1920 x 1080) or a HD (1366 x 768) screen resolution, depending on the specific model and configuration. It's important to check your exact model's specifications, as some versions have different screen resolutions and connector types, which are not interchangeable.

You may need a kernel parameter passed to grub, I have no idea what it might be,.
You might try disabling secure boot and Windows Fast restart, as these can cause hardware oddities, or more.

Definitely do not use the AMD download drivers, they should not be needed in most cases.

Please give us some extra hardware details, using inxi (needs to be installed)

Not saying you are wrong, but are you sure your laptop actually has a FHD capability?

Yes, I am sure... When I had Windows on the machine, it ran in 1080x1920 with no problems. It has only been since formatting and installing Kubuntu that I am having this problem. So, unless Windows was doing some kind of software voodoo, I am sure the machine is capable of it.

Additionally, this computer is now a single OS machine, I completely formatted the drive and did a full fresh install. So, no Windows anything to get in the way. It does have secure boot enabled though.
