Computer slows to a complete hang

I'm using Kubuntu 24.04 with Plasma version 5.27. I noticed this same issue both when I tested Kubuntu in a VM and live-booted it with a USB flash drive, where if I tried to do anything resource-intensive for too long, my system slows to the point of freezing. Recently I was playing Peak with a friend and I put all the graphics settings on their lowest option, but it still froze on me in the middle of our game. I was previously using Windows 10 before switching to Linux and it was able to run Peak relatively well. What do I do?

Well, you can give us the specifications of the PC you are using for a start.
Windows no longer obstruct my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
