Kubuntu Live runs normally until the screensaver kicks in. When I attempt to awaken the display it has lost sync. I cannot restore a normal display. Other live USBs for Ubuntu, Debian, Zorin 17 , Mint 22 etc. do not have this issue.

To be honest this sort of thing probably isn't unusual in a live session running in Ram, Changes done ofiles open aren't saved anywhere physically, so I can see maybe something not surviving in RAM when it sleeps, and then trying to find or load a thing from the OS image after waking.
This could be from the live session, or from the sleep/power management hardware.
So, either live with this -- the live session is designed for testing and installation, not running long-term.
Or change the sleep/power settings every boot.

I downloaded Kubuntu 24.04.3 (LTS) and burned a USB drive. The LTS version works correctly so it's something in the 25.04 imageComment
