Hi all!
I just installed Kubuntu 25.04 today, this being my first brush with Linux ever. I keep getting notifications that my Xbox controller is unplugged/replugged pretty much constantly, which took me a while to figure out (I only realized when I figured out I could turn on pop-up notifications; I thought the mystery sound originally was some kind of "installation complete!" sound). However, it's not been plugged in at all during the installation process; I ran it on Win10 some days ago, before migrating to Kubuntu at all. I used that USB slot to run my installation USB stick, unplugged it after the installation was complete, and haven't used that slot at all while setting up my programs etc. I do use the USB slot next to it for my keyboard and I have plugged in the controller there once or twice too, but since my keyboard runs with no issues even when the disconnected/reconnected sounds play, I'm not sure it's affected by the issue.
Now, I can of course just uncheck the system notifications to stop getting these alerts, but is there a way I can investigate the Xbox detected/removed issue specifically and stop getting notifications for that one issue? I'd be happy with a "Xbox controller detected" message when I actually plug it in, I don't want ghost notifications when the USB slot isn't in use, or when it's taken up by other media.
If this is a complicated process for a newbie or one with no good answers, please let me know. Thank you all very much, excited to be a part of the Kubuntu community going forward
