Flatpak and Snap Discord Issue out of nowhere?

    Hey,

So I've been having an issue with Flatpak and Snap versions of Discord where I get no Output. My mic is getting input but no sound in headphones.
    I've already checked:
    • 2 different headsets both same issue Alienware headset with built in mic and a SteelSeries with a Yeti Nano as the input mic, same result getting input but can't hear during testing, both had worked previously.
    • Uninstalling and reinstalling both versions multiple times, same results no output.
    • Using a browser discord, Webcord and it works... but I want to use either Flatpak or Snap version which was working when I reinstalled this OS within the past month.
    • Checked if I was muted, nope like I said I'm getting input reading during testing.
    • Using pulseeffects, same results nothing.

I'm really not sure what happened as it was working, any suggestions would be so so helpful.
I guarantee reinstalling my whole OS again would solve it but I really dont want to resort to that.. there has to be a way to fix this. I've only been using various desktop gnu/linux os for about two years so I'm still learning as I go, I know sometimes things just break and fix themselves lol but it not happening.

    Thanks

Consider this maybe an issue in the software version, especially since both stopped working, and are very likely the exact same versions, even identical binaries.
    Have you tried their standalone?

    Downgrades are possible:

yes, you are just reinstalling the exact same files, this is most often not of any use in Linux.

      Welcome.

I don't use Discord at all, but as you don't know what could have happened, try the obvious first:
create a new user account and test if this problem also occurs there.

Then there was a kernel update yesterday or the day before:
try booting with the previous kernel and test if this changes anything.

Do you know if the Discord version was updated recently? Then this version could be the problem (oh, claydoh already wrote that )…

        Thanks, for the suggestions.

The Discord versions for flatpak and snap are the same from Discover. Version 0.0.50 released on Apr. 15 2024.
As per you're advice on downgrading or rolling back version, which thank you I will bookmark that for future reference, I did so. I went back to March got the same result so then I went back all the way to version 0.0.27 and still no output on Flatpak version.

I then tried to just install the .deb version just to see(same version) still same issue.

I've also went into Voice and Video of Discord and reset settings, to no fix.

It's just confusing me as to why WebCord works but none of these others do..
