How can I use the desktop without the widget mode?

Hi there, I have installed Kubuntu on 3 laptops. While on the others laptops I am able to move flise and create folder on the desktop, on the first laptop I installed Kubuntu have like a strange widget system. So is like if I want to move a folder or a file, the system create a widget to access to that file. Even using the file manager, an putting files on the desktop folder, those files don't appear on the desktop. So how can I use the desktop in a normal traditional way? I just want to have my main files to be shown on the desktop. Thanks

    Eeew
    Just kidding, of course

Right click on the desktop >> Configure Desktop (or something similar) >> Change the Layout option to Folder View.
This *should* be the default setting, as opposed to the 'Desktop' layout, which is the widgets-only thing you are seeing.

The "desktop" layout used to be the default in Plasma for years, but it did change to Folder View, but I can't recall exactly when.
I can't think of why one system somehow is using that layout, but it is not the expected setting in either Kubuntu 22.04 LTS or later for sure.
