This laptop has both Kubuntu 14.04 and Windows 10 installed. When I start the machine a black screen launches with a zillion listed boot options, the first being "Ubuntu". I select it and march on. This morning I powered up only and headed to the kitchen. Came back and there was my Kubuntu desktop. Evidently if you just let the system ride without selecting a boot option, the default priority is Kubuntu. Pretty exciting, eh?

Yeah, thats how it works. Theres a grub option that lets you set the amount of time that you have to switch operating systems. When that time has passed, it will simply load the first one, Ubuntu in your case.
