sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo dpkg --conf

I end up with error messages indicating missing dependencies. I am using Kubuntu 14.04 LTS 64bit.

dpkg: error processing package linux-signed-generic-lts-vivid (--configure):
    dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
    Errors were encountered while processing:
    linux-image-3.19.0-56-generic
    linux-image-extra-3.19.0-56-generic
    linux-image-generic-lts-vivid
    linux-signed-image-3.19.0-56-generic
    linux-signed-image-generic-lts-vivid
    linux-generic-lts-vivid
    linux-signed-generic-lts-vivid
    steven@steven-K1404:~$

appear when I execute the command: sudo dpkg --configure -a

In the past, when I execute the 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' command, the command line returns to my computer identity. There have never been instructions and errors like this before. How do I correct the problem? Thanks!

The package linux-signed generic-lts-vivid has two dependencies which are linux-headers-generic-lts-vivid and linux-signed-image-generic-lts-vivid as per details from this page -> http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/ke...eric-lts-vivid

Based upon the list you provided, it appears that the package linux-headers-generic-lts-vivid is missing from your system. If you install that package then you should be able to carry out the upgrade.

    Hope this helps.

Nick, did I install the dependency properly. I think you can skip most of the reading of my reply, but you will see the continuing problem near the end of my reply. It says that I already have the latest version. Thanks friend. Shab

This is the same error as in your other thread here: https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showth...n-error-code-1
Did you follow my steps to correct it?
