    Flashing Graphic interface

    Hi,
My new kubuntu 15.10 seem to work pretty nice on my lenovoG50-30 laptop however when I minimize windows the graphic layout

    Here the lspci :

Let's say that I can live with this inconvenient but little help to resolve this little problem will be welcomed .

A friend of mine had some flicker on start up where the screen is supposed to do the slow fade in from black. System Settings --> Desktop Effects --> Unchecked all boxes in the Tab "All Effects"

Flicker stopped. Later she downloaded drivers with System --> Additional Drivers this seemed to help.

EDIT: Also I notice your GPU is an ATOM which is Nvidia? If so to get full GPU support you need the Nvidia drivers from "Additional Drivers" but I see Intel oh well still worth a shot.

I have an Intel Haswell processor with intrgrated graphics. Can't remember the exact model number at the moment, but it's different to yours.

Anyway, I get a similar effect when minimising and moving windows - sometimes they flash/"stutter", parts of the screen don't update properly etc. Pretty sure it's a software problem (specifically the graphics driver). I've been hoping it will get fixed in newer kernels, but I'll have a go at turning off some desktop effects to see if that helps too.

Thank's , yes that's works . By default "Rendenring backend" in " Display and Monitor setting " was set on OpenGL 2.0 , I changed it to OpenGl 3.1 and everything seem to work now.

Woop! That worked for me too

I wonder why the default is 2.0, maybe that's a stable version?

At first I thought it might be a setting left over from when I first installed Kubuntu (this laptop has been upgraded about 4 times so far) but it seems like yours is a fresh installation, so probably not!

I love this forum, I learn so many useful/interesting things here
