Garmin GSP Canada Maps Supported?

What a downer!!?
Just purchased a Garmin nuvi 56 LM GSP (Car Version).
According to their literature, Registration, Maps etc only supported with Windows & Mac.
Is that correct?

Likely, it's the same problem with Tomtom, their smart little navigator runs Linux but the clients need Windows...
This is literally the ONLY reason I privately need Windows, a real shame these guys take it all from the community and give back nil.

As a matter of fact with all the Linux people they have I'd be very surprised if no one ever made a Linux client!
