smtube error could not connect to server

I am running kde plasma 5.2.2. x86_64 system. I get this error when opening smtube Error:could not connect to Youtube server. Any idea what this is? It is not kubuntu related because I get same error on another machine with mint. It is also a problem with minitube.

Probably youtube changed something on their end that broke these. You may want to go to smtube's website and see if they offer any updated packages or have a ppa them.
