Can't View Youtube videos After Browser Update

    Hi,

I have installed the latest updates via Muon, including FF

I can't view Youtube videos, even after closing the browser. Flash is installed

Sometimes I see the black rectangle, but it quickly disappears.

    Advice please.

      Is this the recommended procedure:

Install Fresh Player Plugin In Ubuntu Via PPA (Pepper Flash Wrapper For Firefox)

I have never used a PPA and don't know how they work - Pepper!

Sounds like it just needed a re-boot. Did you re-boot the pc?

            Yes.

I thought that with updates they were immediately effective - no need to re-boot.

            Best wishes.

any time you get a firefox update you should restart it.

and if you do your updates on the command line/terminal you will be told to restart firefox or it may misbehave .

that said I have never had this happen and I have been using Kubuntu since 2009 .................strange..................usually if some updates require a reboot you will be notified of this by the system.
