Adding Folders to Folder View

Try as I may, I cannot produce the output from the terminal using the # button. For some reason it only produces a single line of data. I managed to use the function once, but cannot reproduce it.

I have now moved many of the folders to the wastebin

Should Templates and tmp be in my home? tmp, no; Templates, yes. Is this correct

I think that media should be removed - agree?

I tried to produce the output form my home folder using the terminal, but it does not list all the contents, such as those beginning with .X, other hidden files are listed.

So I am posting an image of my current home

Ps. Should I have a folder home in Home? I don't think so - removed.

I am confused regarding ~/. Is this my home folder. I think so.

I think that it came out as a single line because I used the # in the quick reply box. When using the # in the advanced editor I get:

mite be easier for you to just remove the directory’s that are obviously roots .........like

yes it looks like you started copying / to home ,,,,,,boy that would use up some space

I was not using root Dolphin.

Are you saying I can delete folders in home?

Just to be clear, which ones. Should I move them to a tmp folder first, just to be safe?

you should be ok as you should not have been abel to change anything in /root (copy yes,,chang no)unless you were using a root dolphin ,,,,,,,you were not were you?

Something is wrong.

From my desktop and using folder view, if I click on Home - me- docs - sub folders, they are empty.

If I click on root - Home - me - docs - sub folders, All contents are present.

How can I correct the former - the views should be identical

Ok,

I have tried this and it works.

What I end up with after using a folder view widget is root and a link to root.

Before, I had home - somehow

After deleting the link, I have root, not home.

This will suffice, but I don't understand how I originally had home.

My plan was to have home and root as a folder, probably red, within the widget on the desktop

Somewhere along the line, I seem to have pressed copy, because root started to copy into home. However, I have deleted this folder.

I have an empty file in root, entitled file:///. I have not noticed this before, I think it must have been created by my accidental copy. I assume that I can delete it - it is empty.

Open Dolphin. Click on and drag to the Root folder to the folder. Choose Link Here and give it a name, like Root Folder.
