    Cannot enter quotation marks

    Sir,

New to Kubuntu I must say that I am amazed about the beauty and quietness of the system since having installed Kubuntu 14.04. Love it.

A few problems emerge however, one of which is that since having installed Kubuntu my keyboard does not accept quotation marks any more. Not the single nor the double ones.
    Whatever I try: no success.
The keyboard is the US one (English, with dead keys).

Would be grateful with some help, as I have to write a lot quotation marks cannot be missed.

It sounds to me that the wrong keyboard map has been selected when installing Kubuntu or when you had logged in. If you select 'System settings' from the k menu you should have the option to change the keyboard map to that of US keyboard.

      Done so, and it works.
      Thanks very much!
