If I use the ES Remote Manager function, it gives me an IP address. If I enter this in the location bar of Dolphin, it works - I get into my tablet. But, if I try and set up a network folder to go straight there with one click (Network -> Add Network Folder -> Network Folder Wizard -> choose FTP -> Network Folder Information), it fails. I guess I'm entering the information wrongly/not at all/whatever.
I used this process to set up an SSH using sshdroid. I'm assuming I can do the same for an FTP folder. If so, can some kind person tell me exactly what information, in what format, to put in which box of the Network Folder Information?
About the NSA (No Secrets Allowed), what I mean is last year Airdroid has changed their direct, i.e. local connection to one via their USofA based servers.
I do not approve of sending my private files via a network not protected by at least a minimum of privacy legislation.
Another way to easily exchange data via your LOCAL network is build in the Android X-plore file manager.
Towards the bottom is an option to share files via WiFi, switch it on and in your PC's browser you go to the advertised address.
There's a small typo in it, the port number should be preceded by a : not a dot.
It'll also work on another Android device on the same network.
The free version of X-plore will only allow you to go to the top level directories, any deeper requires a 'donation'.
But for me it's fine, I transfer a zip file and unpack it on the other side.
