unknown host download

I am returning to kubuntu after a 2 month hiatus and may have lost track of changes on my system. I am trying to update my desktop by downloading new screen savers but instead I get that breaking glass sound ( does it ever get your attention) and the message unknown host download.

Does this mean I am logging on with the wrong password and if so how can I locate my passwords?

I suspect that it MIGHT mean that whatever program you're using thinks that download is the name of the site you're trying to reach and it's telling you that it can't find that site. Obviously, if my conjecture is correct, this means you're giving a improperly formed command.
