PS3 Controller and ZSNES

HI when I go to setup the controls for the joypad zsnes doesn't recognize the device. (it worked before) When I go to settings-input devices I can see that it recognizes the ps3 controller but does not functiion with ZSNES. Any help would be appreciated..I feel like pullingg my hair out

You might end up getting more help at the ZSNES forums. IF it shows up in KDE then it usually implies that the joystick is working just fine.
