    change color of taskbar

My taskbar is gray. I want to make it transparent/translucent instead. How can I do that?

    (Kubuntu 10.04)
    I run Kubuntu 18.04 LTS.

You would need to find a Plasma theme that provides one. I cannot remember if it is true for the KDE version in Lucid, but one can use the "details" section of the Desktop Theme area in System Settings to mix and match elements from different themes if you want to keep the overall theme and just change the panel's theme.

A warning, though: Some newer themes do not work well with older versions of KDE (and vice-versa).

Rosa's theme is nice for that.

        Kmenu>Applications>Settings>SystemSettings>Workspa ceAppearance&Behavior>WorkspaceAppearance>DesktopT hemes>GetNewThemes(in the lower right-hand cornet)Search(Column on the Right)

        Type in the word 'Transparent'

From the choices, select a few with 5 star rating. They usually are the most stable and generally attractive.

        Click on "Close".

These choices will also change Plazmoid Widget appearance, so select them one-at-a-time, and Apply your choice. Then minimize the screen and view the desktop. The Kmenu panel should be mostly invisible. Cheers and good fortune!
