taskbar settings--where new windows get placed

    I'm running Kubuntu 10.04 (lucid).

Whenever I open a new window, it appears on the taskbar to the right of every other window. I want newly opened windows to instead appear immediately to the right of the previously active window. Is there a way to do this?
    I run Kubuntu 18.04 LTS.

      Not automatically.

Right-click on an empty area of the Panel and select Task Manager Settings and look at the options available under Grouping and Sorting.

^I have those settings set to "manual," which is fine by me, but I'd like them to be yet more specific, as per above.

I guess there's no way to do it short of writing my own code. Whatever. Thanks for your reply anyway.
