This already started to happen when I had 11.10 and I thought 12.04 will fix it but it's still the same. The problem is that if my laptop is idle for around 4 minutes my screen turns off even though my screensaver and power management are disabled. How can I fix that?

thanks
solved my problem. I have HDMI output and had to move the mouse every 10 mins.Originally posted by whatthefunk View PostIve had problems with DPMS switching on and off by itself. Next time it happens, use xset-q to see if DPMS is enabled. If it is, do
Code:xset -dpms
I made bash script calling the two command:
xset -dpms
xset s noblank
and so the screen does not go black anymore.
