    Window Minimisation

Hi all. I am a very new user of a linux operating system and so far loving it. I have installed the kde desktop as this is easier for me to use coming from a Windows background. There is just one behaviour I dont like, which hopefully you can tell me how to solve. If I have like an internet browser up, and I minimise it, I have no idea where it goes too. This happens with all windows I minimise. To get it back up, I have to reload the application. Is there anyway, like in windows, that when I minimise something, it goes into the taskbar at the bottom of the screen? Then when I click on it from there, it will maximise. Is it possible to get it like this with kde?

    Many thanks

    Nick

    Re: Window Minimisation

So you do not have a panel (ie taskbar) at the bottom of your screen? Or perhaps somehow the task manager part is missing from the panel.

I will assume that you do not have a taskbar on your panel, and it is actually easy to add back:

right-click on an empty space on the panel, then select Panel Options, followed by Add Widget. From there you will see a section with alll the available widgets, and you can search for Task Manager. Either double-click its icon, or drag it to your panel, and you should be all set to go.

    and specifically

have lots of info about this as everything is configurable and rather modular
