Kubuntu - Live CD testing hardware

    Hello everybody!!

I like KDE and would like to install Kubuntu.
Now I am testing hardware compatibility via Live CD.
    And here goes first issue:

First thing what I noticed, some process called knotify4 used 50% of my CPU. Constantly 49% - 50%. And it doesn't matter if everything is closed or not. It just stays that way.

When I moved cursor over that process It says:
Process status: sleeping - Process is waiting for something to happen.

I also noticed that one of my CPU's cores was constantly 100% all the time while other changed..

Soo I tried to google. Some things come up, but I don't know what to do. I'm confused now...

OK here is what I got first some links:

I'm running 64-bit and Ubuntu with the 'old' gnome2 interface, with
radeon open source graphic drivers. I have KDE installed
I'm running 64-bit and Ubuntu with the unity interface, with fgrlx
graphic drivers - and I have same situation.
So it seems mainly 64bit architecture issue.

    My Hardware specification
    • CPU - [64bit] Intel Pentium D 820 2.8GHz
    • RAM - 2 x 512MB DDR2
    • Video Card - ATI Radeon HD 2600XT 256MB (supports 1080p video playback) (Googled this card is equivalent to GeForce 8600GT)

I think its pretty big issue... I'm I wrong? I don't want to install Kubuntu 11.04 and then conclude something that I cant get fixed is eating half of my CPU power...

Anyway, what this means Live CD issue? Some bug that can be fixed somehow (installing something or what)?
    I would appreciate some guidance.

And if it is some bug that isn't fixed yet, how can I report it? (Never have reported bug) Step-by-step.

Some links about main hardware pieces:

P.S. Where would you suggest to upload pictures ?
    (attachments have limitation to 128kb)
So I can visually show what is going on
