    Video problem

    Here's what you get from a newbie

    Code:
    jesse@lucid:~$ history | awk '{a[$2]++}END{for(i in a){print a [ i ]" " i}}' | sort -rn | head
    32 sudo
    20 ls
    19 cd
    16 exit
    7 shutdown
    7 ps
    4 reboot
    3 startx
    3 kill
    2 man
    jesse@lucid:~$
    And I always feel like a total thread killer--glad I am not alone!

    "startx" three times?

    Are you having video configuration problems, or do you a console login and starting the desktop manually?

      Yes, sometimes I am getting weird video problems where I have to power off by holding down the button since I can't log in. Then I boot into (drawing a blank suddenly, "repair" or something mode) and after that I select resume normal boot but that doesn't start the gui.

        Have you started a thread, giving your hardware config and description of the problem?
