problem with cdrom (using package manager)

    Hello, Im new to kubuntu-
Recently Ive been having trouble downloading with the package manager. It asks to insert the kubuntu cd in the drive /cdrom/, I had done that before but now it doesnt recognize it. When I insert it, Konqueror shows the files in it, it is located in /hda.

    Thanx for your help

You are trying to download packages from the online/internet repositories right?

    1. Open up Adept. Go to the Adept menu and click on Manage Repositories
    2. The first line of the repository would probably be something like "deb cdrom:/...." or if it's not, look for it
    3. Right click on that line and choose Disable
    4. Click on Apply at the bottom and then Fetch Updates.

That should get you up and working. You're basically disabling the cdrom repository, which you wouldn't need after you've installed a perfectly working system and an internet connection.
